Haiti continues to weigh heavy on my heart. I will miss traveling to Sobier, Haiti this year. The Haitian border has been closed since March 19. The Prime Minister recently called for the airport to begin receiving flights. A reopening date has not been established as of the writing of the Adventure Journal. The Coronavirus outbreak seems to be less aggressive than was previously expected. There have been 4,309 people test positive and 73 deaths. This number is encouraging, though, testing is not widespread and many people have chosen not to be tested or to pursue treatment. To many of the Haitian people, illness is part of life and they view the Coronavirus as a “small fever.”

Living the Adventure Ministries continues to partner with our brothers and sisters in Haiti to continue work in the villages. We recently sent $500 to support a new agricultural initiative in Yvon. We are praying new crops will successfully produce food for the residents of the villages and possibly have enough to market some of the vegetables.
