When will the pandemic be over? When can we travel again? When will borders open around the world to receive people from other countries? These questions serve as daily reminders to me of the struggles of planning mission trips in the midst of a pandemic.

My heart broke to not be able to travel to Haiti in June or to travel to India in 2020. My heart’s desire and a vital part of our mission as a ministry is to “help people put their faith into action through mission experiences around the world.”

At the present time, I am working on plans to return to Haiti in January and in June 2021. I recognize the January trip may be difficult to make happen, yet I trust the Lord to give guidance when the time comes to make the final decision. I believe the wise person plans, recognizing those plans may need to change. I believe the possibilities of traveling in June are much greater and it will be good to take a team to Sobier again, since it has been two years since I was last able to take a summer team because of unrest and the pandemic.

For this reason, I am seeking people who feel called to travel to Haiti in 2021 and beyond to contact me. I need to know if there is any interest in participating in a team if the pandemic situation is different and if there are vaccinations or treatments that will make travel possible. If you would like to know more and/or are interested in participating on a team, please contact me (matt@livingtheadventure.net or 618-830-6670).
